Palestra: O Algoritmo LZ77 e o formato do PKZIP - SINFORM 2012 - UESC

Networking and X Windows System 11 Release 6 works fine; the xv binaries and source are not present on the packages distribution of MINIX 3.1.8 and were installed from MINIX 3.1.5 cd iso image.

Small Finite Fields

I had prepared a toolbox for compute Small Finite Fields. It can cope with with Finite fields of the following orders: 2^{7}, 3^{5}, 5^{3}, 7^{2}, 11^{2}, 13^{2}.

The routines were implemented as EXCEL 2003 macros and there is a PowerPoint companion explaining the use of the worksheet (the latter also available as PDF)

The limiting parameter to the size of the Finite Fields is the 256 columns available on EXCEL 2003. But, as EXCEL 2007 has 16384 columns, then the program, migrated to EXCEL2007, could compute Finite Fields of maximal sizes: 2^{14}, 3^{8}, 5^{6}, 7^{5}, 11^{4}, 13^{3}, 17^{3}, 19^{3}, 23^{3}, 29^{2}, 31^{2}, 37^{2}, 41^{2}. Of course, this implies in a larger execution-time.
